Urban Shelter has a world-class Indigenous management team with direct knowledge of the industry, extensive property development experience and unique administrative skills.
The management team has continuously combined an understanding of finance, development in nation’s economy and property development which has enabled them to successfully embark on and execute extensive property development projects that would defy seemingly large companies.
Its day-to-day operations are currently undertaken by a team of versatile and enterprising young men led by Sa’adiya Aliyu as the Chief Operating Officer.
Saadiya is an executive management professional, who is results focused, driven and dynamic with over 15 years of progressive leadership experience. She has a passion for surpassing operational, financial and operational objectives by delivering world class real estate developments and solutions.
With over 12 years of international experience in real estate, construction, engineering and project management, Bachir leads, coordinates and oversees the Residential & Commercial developments and operations of USL. He also provides technical support to the quality control team and the business development team. Prior to joining USL, he served in construction management at Clark Construction, LLC in Washington DC; in process engineering at Rohm & Haas in Delaware and Arkema Group in Philadelphia as a quality engineer.
He was recently appointed AGM-Building Services overseeing Quantity Survey, Architecture, Mech anical & Electrical Units of Urban Shelter. He is responsible for the design team, quality control and cost management of all USL projects. Additionally he heads the Quality Monitoring Committee and the Tender Board.
He has a graduate degree in Accounting from illustrious Ahmadu Bello University which he followed up with an MBA from Bayero University Kano. Prior to joining Urban Shelter Limited Yakubu worked in the Niger State Government where he was involved in a number of key policy dialogues. He joined the Urban Shelter family as part of the Finance & Accounts team where he excelled.
He is a graduate of Economics (Bsc Hons) in 1989 from the University of Jos, Jos Plateau State. He was employed with the Kwara State Ministry of Education where he taught Economics, Mathematics, Government and Commerce in the school where he was assigned. He left the teaching profession after two years and joined Urban Shelter Savings and Loans Limited, Lagos where he worked in the Banking Operations, Mortgage Credit and Administrative Departments.
Ismail Badru is a Graduate of Accountancy. He passed the qualifying exam of the famous Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in the year 2000 and was inducted Associate member (ACA) of the Institute in the year 2001. He became a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute in the year 2013 having successfully practised the accountancy profession for over ten years. Ismail has over fifteen years work experiences which cut across various economic sectors like banking, manufacturing, financial consulting services among others.
