Dr. Chii Akporji is the Chairperson of Shelter Afrique Development Bank and an Independent Director at Urban Shelter Limited, with over 25 years of experience in urban development and housing finance across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She spent 14 successful years at the World Bank Group, focusing on urbanization and city development, forming key partnerships to implement policy reforms. As a Senior Advisor to Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance, she contributed to significant economic reforms, including a 6% GDP growth and increased FDI. Dr. Akporji was instrumental in establishing the Nigeria Mortgage Refinance Company (NMRC) with a $300 million World Bank loan and served as its Executive Director, enhancing the mortgage market’s efficiency. She is the Founder/CEO of ALPHACITIES Consulting LLC, providing advisory services to prominent clients. Dr. Akporji holds degrees from University College Dublin, the University of Ottawa, and the University of Nigeria, with executive certifications from Harvard, Cambridge, and Wharton.
